What is Dalguise?
Dalguise Activity Chess Weekend is a residential chess weekend for young players of the game. It takes place during the beginning of October over a weekend at Dalguise Activity Centre in Perthshire, Scotland. There, we combine a chess tournament and adventurous actvities which are provided and instructed by the centre.

It is a fun and enjoyable weekend for 8 - 18 year olds although family memebers are also welcome to attend. In our opinion the more the merrier! In 2004 we had 32 participants, 2005 we had 59 and in 2006 after a few drop outs 56.

Dalguise is ran by PGL with all instructors qualified, friendly and encouraging. The centre provides numerous activities some which are high, fast and daunting but thrilling, challenging but incredibly fun and enjoyable once you've taken the origninal leap! Dalguise used to be the holiday home of Beatrix Potter and was the inspiration for many of her stories. Please feel free to check out further details on the centre at http://www.pgl.co.uk/online/ourcentres/centre.asp?menu=holidays&centrecode=DG

We will be attending Dalguise in 2007, if you would like to register your interest please see our "How to apply page" and contact us.
